The Fund Development Officer position will support the organization’s fundraising and revenue-generation activities, including grant writing, funder research, proposal development, reporting and stewardship. The role will also contribute to sponsorship and donor campaigns, developing compelling proposals and communications that build long-term relationships with foundations, corporations, individual donors and community partners. This position does not solicit or cultivate new prospects and partners independently, but rather partners with the Artistic Director and Executive Producer to support and advance their relationship-building efforts. The successful candidate will be organized, strategic and collaborative, with strong writing skills and an understanding of fundraising within the not-for-profit sector. The application deadline is October 12th or until the position is filled. Interviews will be scheduled on a rolling basis.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with program leadership to identify, define, and develop funding opportunities that support Springboard’s existing and planned programs and strategic priorities
- Research and identify prospective funders, including government agencies, corporate sponsors, family and charitable foundations, community organizations, and individual donors
- Develop and maintain a diversified fund development workflow, tracking prospects, cultivation activities, applications, sponsorships, donations, and reporting requirements
- Develop and support targeted sponsorship and donor campaigns, including campaign messaging, prospect lists, solicitation materials, stewardship communications, and recognition opportunities
- Work with the Artistic Director/Executive Producer and program leadership to identify compelling projects and funding priorities for sponsorship and donor cultivation
- Assemble and submit grant and sponsorship applications, including letters, proposals, budgets, presentations, sponsorship packages, and supporting materials
- Ensure funding applications, sponsorship deliverables, and final reports are prepared and meet funder and partner standards and deadlines
- Support donor and sponsor stewardship by ensuring timely acknowledgements, recognition, impact updates, invitations, and other relationship-building communications
- Maintain accurate records of funding deadlines, submissions, awards, sponsorship commitments, donor activity, recognition requirements, and reporting deadlines
- Work in coordination with the Artistic Director/Executive Producer to prioritize projects and keep multiple grant, sponsorship, and donor initiatives moving forward in a timely manner
- Liaise with program officers, corporate partners, sponsors, foundations, donors, and funding organizations as required
Qualifications
- Experience in grant writing with a proven track record of success
- Familiarity with grant and fundraising databases
- Excellent research and writing skills
- Knowledge of Google Workspace is considered an asset
Employment length: The duration of this contract is one year with the possibility of extension.
