The Facility Operations Manager will play a crucial role in the execution of containR Facility operations and assist with programming, providing on-site hospitality and logistical support for on-site event facilitators, patrons and rental partners.
Responsibilities
- Supervising maintenance and establishing priorities for maintenance schedules;
- Assist and build strong relationships with coordinators of other crews that operate on site;
- Set-up and tear down of site materials such as signage, chairs, tables, and tents;
- Assist with directions, schedules, and provide information to patrons and the general public about activities on the site;
- Assist with seating arrangements when required including wheelchair accessible areas;
- Ensure all health and safety requirements are enforced in accordance with containR’s Covid-19 protocols along with all AHS and AGLC permitting requirements;
- Maintain site materials inventory;
- Provide food and beverage sales services when required;
- Provide box office ticketing services when required;
- Maintain post-event reports;
- Oversee event volunteers;
- Negotiate service contracts and manage production budget;
- Maintain good relationships with site crew and enhance volunteer experience while coordinating site crew;
- Due to the rate of change in the event business, some flexibility is required;
- Coordinate with E.P.S, Fire Department, Security, Health Inspectors, and act as emergency coordinator for events and ensure safe working conditions for the site crew;
Qualifications
- Production experience with other festivals or major public events considered an asset;
- Project management skills;
- Creative and resourceful problem solver;
- Ability to lift 20+ lbs;
- Comfortable working outdoors and in public spaces (in summer months);
- Comfortable working with the public;
- Experience in hospitality services such as bartending an asset;
- Valid ProServe an asset;
- Cash handling experience;
Employment length: 9 weeks working Wednesday to Sunday (Monday and Tuesday off)
Location: Calgary, mainly on-site in Sunnyside at containR Art Park
