The Assistant Producer will play a crucial role in the planning of Fluid Festival programming, including artist liaising, contract execution, administrative organization, festival scheduling, company management, and more.
Responsibilities
- Manage programming-focused meeting schedules, attend meetings as required, and maintain meeting documents;
- Assist the Artistic & Operations teams in artist and venue contract execution and organization of all contractual obligations;
- Assist the Creative Producer with company management tasks, including artist welcome packages, travel itineraries, accommodations and travel arrangements, and related costings;
- Contribute artistic insights during programming conversations with the Artistic Director;
- Maintenance of the festival schedule, including performances, technical rehearsals, workshops, and hospitality drop-offs at venues;
- Act as a liaison between Fluid Festival, the contemporary dance community, artists, partners, networks, and stakeholders in Calgary and Western Canada;
- Research and implement ways to connect audiences to contemporary dance performance through 1) encouraging attendance, 2) encourage discussion about performances that the community would like to experience 3) to encourage a conversation about the work and the creating artists;
- In collaboration with the Artistic & Operations team, contribute to the organization’s strategic plan for dance performance;
- Research funding and partner opportunities for contemporary dance performances;
- Acts as a representative for the company within the community, including attendance at other community events;
Qualifications
- Excellent organizational skills;
- Excellent customer service skills;
- Knowledge of Google Workspace;
- Basic knowledge of performing arts and venue services;
- Basic knowledge of event technical aspects an asset;
